1. stay in your pyjamas. that is, of course, assuming that you wear them. if not, put something comfortable on.
2. download ólafur arnalds' living room songs. listen to them.
3. bake a cake. i highly recommend the recipe for banana cake in breakfast, lunch, tea (in fact, i recommend every recipe in the rose bakery cookbook).
4. read a book. might i suggest great house by nicole krauss - it reads beautifully alongside arnalds' music.
5. write a long email to a good friend. if you write them a letter that you physically send that's even better.
6. do you own an album that makes you ridiculously happy? yes? good. put it on. dance.
7. if you're feeling adventurous: go outside. jump in puddles. if you're not: make a cup of tea. watch the rain from inside.
8. make something. a zine. some wooly socks. a cheese toastie. an art manifesto.
9. prepare yourself an indoor picnic.
10. fill in the blank.
janelle: you should do some silly doodles. with your sense of humour they would be brilliant.
misslikey, steph, nancy baric, alex, primoeza, camila faria, suzie and monica: glad you like kyu's work too.
sundari: the whale on the guitar is a lovely touch.
tc: beautifully said!

♥! Perfect post for a rainy season in Buenos Aires, where i live...
RépondreSupprimerI personally love snuggling up to my boyfriend and nerding out to a sci-fi television series with lots of hot tea! It's the best!
RépondreSupprimera rainy day is my call Home. art, films, books, sifting, crochet, philosophising, baking, endless cups of chai.
RépondreSupprimerbreakfast, lunch, tea - will look it up!
mmm perfect! especially the puddle jumping.
RépondreSupprimerLove this.
RépondreSupprimerperfection my dear xo
RépondreSupprimeroh, how I ♥ rain! especially if I have that superb opportunity to stay at home in something comfortable, with a good book, a mug of hot chocolate, telling somebody kind words (esp somebody you miss a lot), hearing the raindrops, looking through the window when it`s getting dark and the street lamps are lit up. :)
RépondreSupprimerThanks for Living Room Songs!
I love your list. I must start doing some of these things, especially when I'm feeling low.. xx
RépondreSupprimerAha all so good. I was coming back home very late on Sunday (well, around midnight) and was listening to my iPod and just as I got to my drive Bombay Bicycle Club's 'Lights out, words gone' came on and I just had the happiest little boogie under the night sky before going in. If someone saw me they would have thought me crazy perhaps, but small moments like that are too much of a wonder to care too much I think.
RépondreSupprimeryou list up soo many things I do and plan to do. I love the rose bakery book, I don't know how often I already made the lemon cake...
RépondreSupprimerI love rainy days. I especially like how your blog, tumblr, and even twitter have a rainy day feel to them, if that makes any sense. You seem to have covered all the rainy day activities... but maybe watch a really cool foreign film?
RépondreSupprimerwhat a nice list!! except that i can't bake, boo.. it's just never turned out good when i baked that i give up, i think i'm not good at following recipes.
RépondreSupprimer10. the internet of course! from the harmless and inspiring activity like blogging, browsing pinterest and flickr to... the dangerous one like online shopping.
11. beauty pampering time - put a mask on your face or time for manicure / pedicure at home
:)
This is so lovely, Danica.
RépondreSupprimer3. I am super poor in baking and am planing to join a bakery workshop to tackle the problem.
4. I haven't read a nice book for long but I will after the examination.

Wish you a happy week:-)
